A recipe import failed

Web Import reads the page you're on. When it can't, you'll see one of these:

• "Couldn't find a recipe on this page. Try navigating to a recipe page." — You're not on the actual recipe (often a category or home page). Open the specific recipe, then tap Import Recipe.
• "Extraction timed out. Try a simpler page or use Quick Paste." — The page was too heavy to read in time. Retry once; if it fails again, use Quick Paste.
• "Could not read enough content from this page." — The page loaded very little text (a paywall, a login wall, or a mostly-image page).
• "We found ingredients but no cooking steps on this page." — The method section didn't load or isn't on that page. Try the print version of the recipe, or Quick Paste the full text.

The reliable fallback

Select the recipe text in the page, copy it, and use Quick Paste instead — see Pasting recipe text.
