Using Cook Mode

Open a recipe and tap Cook. Cook Mode takes over the whole screen so it's readable from across the kitchen.

The prep step

It starts on a prep step: set your servings, and tick off the ingredients as you gather them.

The steps

Then it's one step at a time. Swipe left/right, or use the on-screen next / previous buttons. A bar at the top shows how far through you are.

The screen stays awake for the whole session and un-dims when you leave — see Keeping the screen awake. You can also rotate the phone.
