Importing from YouTube

Updated 2026-09-02

  1. On the Recipes tab, tap + → Web Import.
  2. Navigate to the YouTube video in the browser.
  3. Tap Import Recipe.

What it reads

ReciLore does not transcribe or watch the video. It reads the video's description, and if the description links to a full recipe page it opens that and imports from there. If there's no link, it makes a recipe from the description text itself.

If it grabs the wrong thing

Descriptions often contain several links (sponsors, other videos, the creator's shop). ReciLore tries the most recipe-like ones, but it can pick wrong. If the result is off:

  • Open the actual recipe link from the description in Web Import and import that page directly.
  • Or copy the recipe text and use Quick Paste.
