Editing a recipe
Updated 2026-09-13
Open the recipe and tap Edit. Everything is editable in one form:
- Title, Description, and a free-form Comment
- Source URL
- Servings and prep / cook / total time
- Cuisine and meal type (choose from set lists)
- Dietary tags (a fixed set like Vegetarian, Gluten-free)
- Nutrition figures
- Ingredients — see Editing ingredients
- Steps — see Editing steps and step groups
- Photo — see Recipe photos
- Tags — your own labels; see Tags
Save when you're done. Editing and saving need an internet connection.
Protein, carb, and difficulty aren't editable
These three are worked out automatically from the ingredient list (protein, carb) and the prep/cook times (difficulty) — there's no picker for them. Fix the ingredients or the times and the badges on the recipe update to match, the next time you save.
If your save is blocked because someone else changed the recipe, see This recipe changed by another household.
